"Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. Derek says it's always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can't top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you'd like. 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'" - American History X.

"I was thinkng, 'Well, this is the end, really. There's no more touring. That means there's going to be a blank space in the future...' That's when I really started considering life without The Beatles - what would it be? And that's when the seed was planted that I had to somehow get out of [The Beatles] without being thrown out by the others. But I could never step out of the palace because it was too frightening. - John Lennon

Aside from 'Self', the topic that really got me in the first half of the semester was 'women and economics'. The role of women in today's society, I'd say, is the most obvious proof that 'reality' is socially constructed.
The things that I'm learning in school are making me appreciate Green Day's music and the spirit of being punk even more. I've always said that if anything, they are more of a social activist than a political one. And it did not start with American Idiot or Warning. In 1995, they break big time with the album 'Dookie' and 'She' was one of their hit single. It's a song inspired by a feminist poem and it's written for Billie Joe's ex-girlfriend.
She - Green Day (Live on BBC Radio 1 Sessions)
She...she screams in silence
A sullen riot penetrating through her mind
Waiting for a sign
To smash the silence with the brick of self control
Are you locked up in a world thats been planned out for you ?
Are you feeling like a social tool without use ?
Scream at me until my ears bleed
Im taking heed just for you
She...she's figured out
All her doubts were someone elses point of view
Waking up this time
To smash the silence with the brick of self control

The other day I told kakak that her Mira is probably one of the most good natured person I've ever met. Pity that she's crying in her first family photo.

Our visits to each other's houses turned out not bad at all. And both times Girlfriend was very the pretty in baju melayu.

Okay now back to 3 essays, 2 book reviews, 2 readings presentations, 1 group project research, lots of coffee and cigarettes, and missing her like heaven.
